Proper handling of waste electrical and electronic equipment

What is Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)?

All our extension cords, at the end of their life cycle, become waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). According to the law, such waste must be collected separately. Therefore, on our products you will find the crossed-out bin symbol:

WEEE - Symbol przekreślonego kosza na śmieci

Why is proper disposal so important?

Potential effects on the environment and health

Electrical and electronic equipment, including our extension cords, consists of many different components. They contain valuable metals that can be recovered through recycling, but also substances, mixtures and components that can be harmful to the environment and human health if the equipment is not properly disposed of.

Throwing a used extension cord into a regular household waste bin can lead to:

Release of harmful substances

Components such as plastics, cables or electronic elements can release substances into the soil and groundwater when landfilled, which pollute the environment and can enter the food chain.

Health hazards

Contact with certain chemical substances contained in electronics can be harmful to human health.

Waste of resources

Many parts of used equipment can be reused or recycled, which helps save the Earth's limited natural resources and energy.

Where can you return used equipment?

Proper disposal is simple and free. Used equipment can be returned at one of many designated points:

1

Municipal Waste Collection Point

Municipal Selective Waste Collection Point (PSZOK) in your municipality.

2

Electronics retail stores

When purchasing new equipment of the same type, the store is obliged to accept the old one free of charge. Large stores (over 400 m²) must accept small equipment (up to 25 cm) without the need to purchase new equipment.

3

Service points and collection events

Service points and special collection points organized periodically in the municipality.

Thank you for caring about our shared environment together with us.
